Why Learn Cybersecurity

Cybersecurity professionals are on the front lines of digital defense for companies, protecting their critical systems and sensitive data from cyberattacks. Cybersecurity offers a wealth of career and financial prospects due to the high demand for talent. The average entry-level Cybersecurity Analyst salary in Utah is $83,700 (Lightcast™. 2022). Obtaining additional security clearances can potentially increase cybersecurity salaries.

The Demand for Cyber Talent

There are many opportunities in Utah and remotely across the United States. According to research from cyberseek.org, in Utah alone, there are currently over 9,000 open cybersecurity roles.

As of late 2022, there were more than 700,000 cyber jobs available in the U.S., according to CyberSeek, with nearly 30,000 of them designated for entry-level professionals.

Nationally, there are over half a million cyber jobs that employers are looking to fill. Plus, local high-tech companies like Goldman Sachs, Adobe, Accenture, Intermountain Healthcare, and Travelers are currently hiring (Lightcast™ . 2022).

These companies are hiring for roles like IT Help Desk Specialist, Systems Support Specialist, and Cybersecurity Analyst. Grads of the USU Cyber Bootcamp curriculum are qualified for employment in any of these jobs--and more!
